This exhibition marks 100 years since the birth of Sir Denys Lasdun (1914-2001) and the 50th anniversary of the opening of his iconic Grade I-listed building, the Royal College of Physicians. Lasdun was a controversial pioneer of modern British architecture, and a significant figure in 20th-century architecture. The exhibition will include rarely-seen original models of Lasdun’s best-known buildings, including the National Theatre and brutalist masterpiece Keeling House. It will also feature drawings, letters and photographs from private collections and the Lasdun Archive at the Royal Institute of British Architects. The Royal College of Physicians, set in Regent’s Park, is considered a modernist masterpiece, and one of London’s most important post-war buildings.
