WHAT WE’RE SEEING
Zaha Hadid is known more for her museums and infrastructure buildings than her houses and housing projects. However, there is much to learn from her work and its development of parametric design processes. And against the usual grain of the way in which architects become famous, it appears she is more recently using the skills she has learned from her other types of projects and implementing them into residential schemes, including single and multi dwellings. This week you can catch up with the world’s most famous female architect’s story in the Alan Yentob interview documentary on BBC iPlayer. Born in Baghdad in 1950 and based in London, Zaha Hadid is now one of a handful of global superstar designers who have changed the way people think about the world through buildings. ‘Imagine’ visits the architect’s buildings across the globe – from Austria to Azerbaijan – to find out what makes her tick.
